Level Up Fast in Trailborn RPG

Level Up Fast in Trailborn RPG

Standing still doesn't keep you alive in Trailborn RPG. Leveling does. Here's exactly how XP works under the hood, and the fastest way to stack it in your favor.

Combat Is Your Best XP Source

Every monster has a base XP value. What you actually receive scales up from there based on your total XP rate.

For the math-curious: your XP per kill = monster's base XP x (1 + total XP rate / 100)

Your total XP rate stacks from several sources at once:

  • -Your own XP rate stat
  • -Your voting streak bonus
  • -Premium membership bonuses (Ko-Fi)
  • -Active event bonuses
  • -Party XP modifiers
  • -Guild XP buffs

Stack enough of these at once and a single kill can be worth far more than its base value.

Guilds Give a Permanent Boost

A guild that has upgraded its XP rate bonus applies that boost the same way as your vote streak, premium, or event bonuses: as a real, ongoing percentage added to your total XP rate. Joining, or building, a guild with this upgrade is one of the few permanent, passive boosts to both combat and profession XP.

Quests Are Reliable, Not Boosted

Completing a quest grants a fixed amount of XP. None of your XP rate bonuses apply to it - what you see is what you get.

That makes quests the most predictable XP in the game. Combat is where your stacked bonuses actually pay off, so lean on quests for guaranteed progress and combat for maximizing your rate.

Parties Share the Kill

Fighting in a party doesn't hand kill XP straight to whoever lands it. Each kill's XP is cut by a party size based percentage, and that reduced amount goes into a shared party pool:

  • -2 Players: -45% per kill
  • -3 Players: -61.6% per kill
  • -4 Players: -70% per kill
  • -5 Players: -75% per kill
  • -6 Players: -78.3% per kill

That looks like a steep cut on a single kill, but the pool adds up fast. In a full party of 6, every member contributing one kill each feeds roughly 21.7% into the pool per kill, six times over, for a combined total around 130% of what a solo kill would be worth. Spread that across the whole party and everyone nets close to an even share - which is where the overall party XP boost (110% to 130% depending on size) comes from.

Party levels can also unlock temporary XP rate buffs through party skills, stacking on top of everything else.

Voting Is a Real Multiplier

Voting for the bot isn't just a one-time reward - it builds a streak.

  • -Each vote adds +2% to your XP rate
  • -The bonus caps at +20% with a full streak
  • -You can vote again every 12 hours
  • -Missing a vote for 48 hours resets your streak back to zero

Since this stacks directly into your total XP rate, keeping your streak alive is one of the simplest ways to boost everything else on this list.

Energy Is What Gates You

Combat, exploration, professions, and crafting all cost energy - and combat specifically requires at least 5 to start. HP, MP, and Energy all regenerate from 0 to 100% over 4 hours, which means sitting at full energy without using it is regen you're not benefiting from. Spend it in full sessions rather than letting it cap and idle.

The Level Curve Gets Steep

For the math-curious: XP needed for your next level = floor(20 x level^2.6 + 388)

Early levels are cheap and fast. Past a certain point, the curve climbs sharply, and you'll need every XP bonus you can stack just to keep pace.

The Fastest Path to Leveling

  • -Vote every 12 hours to keep your streak bonus alive
  • -Join or build a guild with an XP rate upgrade
  • -Make combat and exploration your main grind
  • -Complete quests whenever you need guaranteed, reliable progress
  • -Party up for shared XP and faster clears - but expect slightly less raw XP per kill than fighting solo
