Craft Better Gear in Trailborn RPG
Crafting is how you turn raw materials into real power. This guide shows you how to craft efficiently, avoid wasting materials, and consistently upgrade your gear.
The Full Crafting Loop
Before you can craft anything, you must follow this order. Every item in the game follows this pipeline - skipping refinement is not possible.
- -Collect raw materials -
/gather,/hunt,/mine,/cut-See Advance Collection Professions to level your collection professions and unlock better materials. - -Refine materials at the crafting bench - raw materials are not usable directly and must be converted into refined components first
- -Craft gear, potions, or other items using the refined materials
The loop in full: Collect Materials → Refine Materials → Craft Items → Repeat. When you have enough runes and Golden Coins → Upgrade.
Crafting Commands
| Type | Command |
|---|---|
| Slash | /craft |
| Prefix | !craft (!create, !cr) |
How Crafting Actually Works
- -Open the crafting bench with
/craftor!craft - -Select an item category and class filter if needed
- -Check the recipe - it shows required refined materials. View the item and it lets you compare stats with your current gear
- -Craft the item - the system checks your materials and inventory space, then deducts 1 energy per item crafted
If something is missing, the game tells you exactly what you need.
Crafting Priorities
- -Craft better gear for yourself first - always prioritize items that improve your current build, use stat comparison before crafting
- -Craft consumables when needed - potions can be crafted in bulk and are useful during combat-heavy sessions
- -Focus on craftable items - focus your crafting efforts on items that you're able to collect the materials for
When Crafting Is Worth It
- -The item is a clear upgrade over your current gear
- -You can reliably collect the materials
- -You need consumables such as potions
- -The item benefits your class and playstyle
The shop only sells items up to level 56. Past that point, drops from monsters, trading with other players, or crafting are your only sources of gear.
When Crafting Is Not Worth It
- -Materials are too expensive for your current progression
- -You can get equal gear faster from drops
- -The recipe is far above your crafting level
- -You're low on energy or inventory space
Hammer Tiers Speed Up Crafting
Your hammer determines how fast you craft. Each tier gives 5% faster crafting and does not reduce material cost - only crafting time. Upgrading your hammer costs Golden Coins.
| Tier | Upgrade Cost |
|---|---|
| Copper | 1,050 |
| Bronze | 6,300 |
| Iron | 31,500 |
| Steel | 105,000 |
| Chromium | 525,000 |
| Silver | 1,312,500 |
| Gold | 2,625,000 |
Faster crafting = more items per session = faster progression. Upgrade your hammer when you have spare Golden Coins.
Practical Crafting Strategy
- -Follow the loop: Collect Materials → Refine Materials → Craft Item → Repeat
- -Keep a stock of commonly used refined materials
- -Craft better gear as soon as they become available
- -Avoid hoarding raw materials - refine them regularly
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- -Trying to craft without refining materials first
- -Crafting items far above your level range
- -Wasting uncommon materials on small upgrades
- -Ignoring inventory space limits before crafting
- -Crafting gear that doesn't fit your class or build
