Trailborn RPG Patch 39

Trailborn RPG Patch 39

Item Upgrading is live, push your gear up to +10 with runes earned from monster kills (Safe Upgrade if you don't want the risk), plus a visual overhaul, crafting and shop QoL fixes, and a major backend stability fix.

It's been a while since the last update, but I've been working extremely hard on this one. It's packed with a brand new feature, new items, tons of QoL improvements, a visual overhaul, and a long list of bug fixes.

New Feature - Item Upgrading

From your inventory or your equipped items, you can now upgrade your armor, weapons, and amulets.

  • Items can be upgraded up to a max of +10
  • Item stats increase with each upgrade
  • Amulets gain additional main stats on each successful upgrade
  • Upgrades require runes, earned from monster kills

4 New Runes (3 More Coming Soon)

  • Ashen Rune (common drop) - upgrades common items
  • Blood Rune (uncommon drop) - upgrades uncommon items
  • Soul Rune (rare drop, elite monsters only) - upgrades rare items
  • Anchor Rune (premium shop item) - prevents level loss or item breaking on a failed upgrade

2 Upgrade Options

  • Normal Upgrade: costs a non-premium rune and Golden Coins. Items can lose levels after +3, and break after +5 on a failed attempt
  • Safe Upgrade (unlocks at +3): costs a premium rune, non-premium rune, and Golden Coins. No level loss or breaking, ever

Failed upgrades also build up a pity counter when your item doesn't lose a level, increasing your success rate on the next attempt.

Crafting & Shop Improvements

  • You can now type item names directly for the view and (viewed) jump buttons in crafting and shop embeds - no more navigation spamming required
  • Crafting now shows your results in a dedicated embed afterward, instead of showing them at the top of the item list

Atomic Saving

Crafting and item upgrading now load once at the start and save once at the end of each interaction. If something bugs out, times out, or fails along the way, you will no longer lose materials or energy for it.

Class & Skill Improvements

  • The skills command now lets you preview the skills of your next unlockable classes, perfect for planning ahead
  • The learn skills embed now has a dropdown to switch between classes on the fly

A Whole New Look

The bot now runs on newly compressed images with a brand new frame, giving it a much grittier overall look and feel. Embed and button colors have been updated to match, and there are 6 new icons alongside a full set of recolored, compressed versions of the old ones.

General QoL

  • All button and modal texts have been reviewed, rewritten where needed, and made consistent across the bot
  • Combat, crafting, and the shop now show new and more natural texts than before
  • Guild upgrades now use a quantity modal after selecting an upgrade (just like party skills), so you can invest multiple times in one go

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue with amulets (post random stats update) generating with no stats for all new items
  • Fixed exploration zone buttons becoming unresponsive after one use
  • Fixed a large batch of other issues causing interaction failed errors or other type errors

Performance & Backend

  • All bot code has been reorganized for easier maintenance and optimized where possible
  • Fixed a major issue where embed views could stack endlessly without players noticing - sometimes 20-30+ in just 5 minutes, with only 60-70% ever properly cleared. This was slowly building up in the background and could eventually freeze or crash the bot. Views can no longer stack, and every view is now properly cleared after a timeout
  • Timeouts increased from 180s to 300s
  • Fixed background tasks spawning per player (sometimes multiple times each), ballooning to 1200+ active tasks. Only the 17 actually needed are now running

This has been a massive amount of work behind the scenes, and I really hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed building it. Next up, I'll be focusing on finishing the quest system. Have fun out there, and see you in-game!
